I personally cannot answer your question but living up here and doing a lot of yard work there are a tremendous amount of mollusk shells throughout the Kern River Valley miles away from the river and lake ...I don't know if they know a paleontologist but that museum has lots of the history of the valley and can most probably answer your question...good luck 👍
